After so many months of not being together in the art room creating art, this semester we were finally able to come back into our art room! It was amazing to see the excitement in the kiddos’ faces and so much fun and I am so grateful to be able to create art with all of my students once again. Here is what all of our creative students have been working on for this Winter Holiday Art Show. I am very excited to see what the new year brings and see new art in our school. Después de tantos meses sin estar juntos en el salón de arte creando arte, este semestre finalmente pudimos volver a nuestro salón de arte! Fue increíble ver la emoción en las caras de los niños y mucha diversión y estoy muy agradecida de poder crear arte con todos mis estudiantes una vez más. Thank you to our amazing Valdez community for helping us spread some holiday cheer! On Wednesday our appreciative staff were treated to a delicious lunch sponsored by Valdez PTO. On Thursday and Friday, with your generous donations, we were able to help 42 Valdez families and 16 families from Columbian Elementary have a happier holiday. Our PTO and our strong, supportive community are what make us great!

When a teacher is out, we rely on substitute (guest) teachers to fill in. We are always in need of good subs! As a guest teacher, you can have a flexible schedule and will have the opportunity to work with students on a part-time or full-time basis. Did you know that each grade at Valdez has at least one class liaison? A class liaison facilitates communication between parents and the teacher, school administration, and/or parent-teacher organization (PTO), and supports the teacher in needs that may arise. If you are interested in becoming or supporting the class liaison, please reach out to your grade level specific liaison for more information.

COVID-19 Vaccinations Now Available for Children 5 and Older
Everyone ages 5 and older is now eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Please talk with your healthcare provider and consider having your children vaccinated against COVID-19. Our Denver Health School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) are now offering vaccinations for free at 18 locations across the district. Click here for more information and resources.
