Family conferences with teachers will be Thursday, October 26th through Thursday, November 2nd.
Thank you for taking the time to meet with your teacher. We are excited to see you and share about your child!
Teachers are staying long hours to meet with all families. We are providing food and drink for them to support them during this time. Please sign up here to bring food or drinks for teachers on Oct. 26th and Nov. 1st. Drop off food anytime before 3:15pm on that date in the front office.

At Escuela Valdez, we celebrate this festive occasion as a community with a special event and an altar in our atrium. We will have pizza available for sale, hot chocolate, sugar skull decorating, and a concert featuring all 2nd and 5th graders and our choir, Aplausos! We invite you to bring any photos or mementos of your loved ones (human or pet) that have passed to include in our Dia de los Muertos altar to honor them.

In the past, we have used a system called Help Counter to communicate volunteer needs and track volunteer hours. Please ensure you have signed up for home access here: HelpCounter Administrative Area (helpcounter-kiosk.com) and also check your spam or promotions folder frequently for updates on volunteer opportunities (search for Valdez Elementary School Volunteers) or favorite these emails so that you are consistently notified.
You can also use this link to update your volunteer interests and log your volunteer time. We use these volunteer hours to apply for grants, so please log your hours every time you volunteer at the school or if you are at home doing tasks for the school. ELCSports is starting to plan for next season. Soccer season will end on November 2nd, and Basketball will begin on January 8th.
Our soccer season has been a complete success with kids! We would love to have kids participate in the next season for basketball.
Ideally, we would like to have someone from our staff or community be the coach. There are two positions, coach and referee. Parents can be referees and the coach supports the referee as needed. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Sanchez at cesar_sanchez@dpsk12.net or 720-424-3363.
